In a new smuggling method, the border police found a 17-year-old migrant girl hiding behind the “dashboard” plate in the car in an attempt to enter Spain from Morocco without documents. The accident occurred when the car, driven by a Moroccan man and woman, was trying to cross the Bani Enzar border crossing between Morocco and Melilla, a Spanish autonomous city located on the northwest coast of Africa.
Border policemen did not find anything suspicious while examining the car but were suspicious of the woman’s strange behavior, as she avoided direct visual contact with the border guards and refused to get out of the car.
According to the Spanish Civil Guard, border policemen used a pulse sensor to determine if there was anyone else in the car, and actually showed a positive result.
The officials searched the car, and eventually found a temporary booth placed behind the glove compartment in the “Tableau”, where they found an adult girl in the fetus position.
With signs of drought and confusion on them, according to reports, the 17-year-old required medical attention before informing officials that she was coming from Mali, a landlocked country in West Africa.
The car, which had Moroccan license plates, was confiscated by the Spanish authorities, and the driver and the woman were arrested on charges of human trafficking while an investigation was continuing.
It is worth noting that in a similar incident last November, I took pictures of a boy and a girl hiding in a car to cross the border, one behind the dashboard and another under the back seat.
