Representative Hussein Ghaitah, a member of the House of Representatives for Minya Governorate, announced that he had made an urgent statement directed against Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health, due to her role in the accident of the death of 4 doctors and the injury of 17 others, in a microbus car crash near May 15 as they were traveling from Minya To Cairo to carry out the assignment.
His goal, in a statement, today, Thursday, said that the Minister of Health must be held accountable and dismissed for the accident that occurred as a result of negligence and indiscriminate decisions and the failure to provide a safe means of transportation for doctors.
He explained that Minya doctors were on their way to training in the Women’s Health Initiative Program at the Training Institute in Cairo at the time of the 2017 assignment, and that it was possible to provide a trainer for them in Minya instead of traveling, especially since they included female doctors, but the Minister refused.
A member of the House of Representatives stressed the need to open an investigation into the matter to hold accountable all those involved in issuing random decisions, which led to doctors moving in this form from Minya to train in Cairo without providing them with a safe means of transportation.
