Al-Ahly hosts his Tanta counterpart in the league in order to continue the series of local victories and stay away with the league lead.
Al-Ahly and Tanta will be playing in the 13th round of the league competition at seven thirty in the evening today, Wednesday, in the stadium of Cairo International Stadium.
The Referees Committee of the Egyptian Football Association headed by Gamal El-Ghandour chose Mahmoud Ashour to manage the match, assisted by Tahsin Sadat, Ayman Al-Akkad and Muhammad Tariq as a fourth referee.
Al-Ahly occupies top of the league standings with 30 points from 10 games, while Tanta comes in 16th with 10 points from 12 games.
The last confrontation between Al-Ahly and Tanta was the 30th round of the 2017/2018 season, and Al-Ahly won a 1-2 result, scored for Al-Ahly at the time, Junior Ajay, Walid Azaru, and Tanta Mohamed Jaber.
Al-Ahly recently returned from a long journey to Zimbabwe and drew 1-1 with Platinum in the fourth round of the African Champions League, to enter the accounts of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Al-Ahly aims to continue its local victories and achieve the 11th consecutive win in the league competition, to move away from the forefront.
Al-Ahly suffers in the Tanta match due to the absence of Alieu Diang to be suspended, along with Ayman Ashraf and Hussam Ashour, while Hussein Al-Shahat returned again to the list, as well as Mahmoud Waheed.
The last match of Tanta in the league against Zamalek was the 12th round at Ghazl Al-Mahalla Stadium, and the team lost 3-2 in an exciting match.
Ayman Al-Muzain, coach of Tanta Club, said earlier in the night in Koura that the team was suffering at the center of the attack before the Al-Ahly match.
