Fayez al-Sarraj, head of the Libyan reconciliation government, refused to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the neighboring countries, Libya, to be held on Thursday in Algeria.

According to television statements reported by the “Africa News” portal, Al-Sarraj refused to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the neighboring countries, in protest against Algerias invitation to the foreign minister of the Libyan interim government, Abdel Hadi Al-Hawij.

On Wednesday, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in its statement the largest meeting of the Libyan neighboring countries, which includes all countries that have geographical borders with Libya. In addition to Algeria, the meeting includes the foreign ministers of: Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Niger, Mali, and Chad. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Al-Wefaq government, Mohamed Siala, also announced his refusal to participate in the meeting of foreign ministers of the neighboring countries, to be held tomorrow in the Algerian capital.

During a post on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook”, the Al-Wefaq foreign ministry said that “Siala” attributed the reason for the refusal in a telephone conversation with his Algerian counterpart, Sabri Bogadoum, to the presence of the foreign minister of the Libyan interim government.
