An autopsy decision of an American who died in prison and was convicted of a “fourth fatality”

The Public Prosecutor decided to conduct an autopsy on the body of the convicted Mustafa Qasim Abdullah Muhammad to determine the causes of his death, as well as asking his medical file and asking the doctors supervising his treatment and condition upon his arrival at “Qasr Al-Aini” hospital, as well as asking the doctors treating him during the period of serving his sentence in Tora Prison Hospital.

The deceased, who holds American citizenship, was transferred from Tora Prison Hospital to Cairo University Hospital, on Sunday, for treatment, but he died on Monday evening.

The deceased American was convicted in a fourth case, which took place in August 2013, and he was sentenced to 15 years in prison for crimes committed during the dispersal of the sit-in.

Interior statement

The Egyptian Ministry of Interior issued a statement regarding the death of the prisoner. She explained that, “against the background of what was circulated on social media on the death of (an Egyptian citizen holding the nationality of a foreign country, Mustafa Qassem) in his prison as a result of his hunger strike. On examination it was found that the aforementioned was transferred to Tora Liman Hospital to receive the necessary health care for his suffering from illness.” Diabetes “, and due to the development of his health condition, he was transferred to Manial University Hospital for suffering from high blood sugar level and was detained in the hospital. On the date of the 13th of this month, she reports from the aforementioned hospital with the death of the aforementioned person following his illness.”
