The Media Center of the Council of Ministers denied, today, Friday, several rumors circulated by some websites and social media pages, most notably the government’s intention to abolish the bread subsidy permanently starting from July 2020, trading counterfeit banknotes of the category “200 pounds”, and the government’s import of seed shipments of corruption.

Canceling bread subsidies this year
The Ministry of Supply said that there was no truth to what was reported regarding the government’s intention to permanently eliminate bread subsidies from July 2020.
The ministry confirmed that the state continues to spend a loaf of subsidized bread for citizens on the five-piaster ration cards without any increase, within the framework of the state’s keenness to facilitate citizens and taking into account the limited income, explaining that the government is in the process of studying the system of transferring in-kind support to conditional cash support, in coordination with a number of authorities Concerned to agree on the mechanisms for their implementation, to limit the leakage of subsidies, and to ensure that it reaches those who are entitled to it, with the state continuing to bear the cost difference in the price of a loaf of bread, and the continued sale of the loaf of bread to citizens at only 5 piasters without any change in it.
Crop damage due to climate changes
The Ministry of Agriculture said that there is no health to damage agricultural crops due to climatic changes, pointing out that all precautionary measures have been taken to protect crops from dust storms, frost and bad weather.
The ministry pointed out that a large surplus of fruit and vegetables production was achieved, as Egypt’s agricultural exports increased by 5.8%, to reach about 5 million and 500 thousand and 125 tons during 2019, compared to 5 million and 200 thousand and 250 tons during 2018, An increase of about 299 thousand and 875 tons.
University hospitals refused to receive dangerous cases
The Ministry of Higher Education confirmed that reports that university hospitals refused to receive dangerous medical cases are not true, pointing out that all university hospitals in different governorates operate normally and at full capacity to receive all sick cases and provide them with outstanding medical services.
The Ministry of Education indicated that university hospitals provided services to about 18 million and 700 thousand citizens during 2019, indicating that an emergency development plan is being implemented for 110 university hospitals nationwide and working to raise their efficiency to increase absorptive capacity.
Shortage of winter fertilizers
The Ministry of Agriculture denied reports that there was any deficiency or shortage of winter fertilizers in any of the governorates of the Republic.
She explained that winter fertilizers were dispensed and distributed to most crops, noting that the file of fertilizer distribution is closely and continuously monitored by the Ministry, from his exit from the factory to his arrival to associations in various governorates and distributing it to farmers.
Seed shipments are rotten
The Ministry of Agriculture said that there is no truth to what has been reported about importing any corrupt seed shipments, explaining that all imported seeds are safe, secure and conform to all standard specifications, where the ad hoc committees by the agricultural quarantine take samples and examine imported shipments before entering the country, to ensure that they conform to international controls and requirements .
The ministry said that in the context of the state’s endeavor to achieve self-sufficiency in seed, a plan was developed to expand the production and export of field seed seeds and vegetable seed seeds.
Trading EGP 200 forged
The Central Bank denied the reports that circulated counterfeit banknotes of the “200 pounds” category.
The Central Bank stressed the existence of continuous coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Funds Investigation to counter any counterfeiting of paper money, explaining that the process of producing paper currency is carried out according to the most recent technological methods, and is subject to advanced insurance operations in all its stages.
Wheat crop infected with yellow rust fungus
The Ministry of Agriculture denied that the Egyptian wheat crop was infected with yellow rust fungus.
The ministry said that wheat seed varieties that are resistant to rust disease that are suitable for cultivation in all the valley and delta lands in the governorates of the Republic have been approved, pointing to the agricultural extension organization seminars to provide farmers with agricultural and production guidelines and resistance to wheat crop pests to avoid being infected with any fungi.
Prioritize imported products at the local expense
The Ministry of Trade and Industry denied reports that the government has given preference to imported products at the expense of local products through supply contracts to government agencies.
The Ministry affirmed its keenness to follow the commitment of government agencies to Law No. (5) for the year 2015 regarding preference for Egyptian products and industries in government contracts, in the interest of the Egyptian industry, and to enhance the role of local production in increasing economic growth rates.
Lack of drugs at the Cancer Institute
The Ministry of Higher Education confirmed that there is no truth to a drug shortage at the National Cancer Institute, explaining that the institute is providing all the necessary medications for those who hesitate to receive treatment, and that the strategic stockpile of oncology drugs at the institute is safe and secure.
According to the ministry, the largest development process for the National Cancer Institute is being implemented since its inception, in accordance with the latest global systems in the health sector, with the aim of increasing the capacity of the institute by 30%, and improving the medical service provided to the reluctant.
Stop the implementation of the “farmer card”
The Ministry of Agriculture said that it is not correct to stop the application of the electronic possession system, “Al-Falah Card”.
She stressed the continuation of the implementation of the system without any interruption, as “the farmer card” has already been started in Port Said and Gharbia governorates and the completion of the implementation of 100% of the cards for the two governorates, in preparation for its circulation in the rest of the provinces by the end of 2020, in the framework of the state’s move towards a society My number and facilitate the services provided to farmers.
