China decides to ban wild animal trade to contain the spread of the Coruna virus

As part of efforts to combat the spread of pneumonia associated with the new Coronavirus, China announced on Sunday a ban on the trade of wildlife across the country.

The Chinese State Administration of Market Regulation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the State Administration of Forest and Grasslands, in a joint statement, stated that the places where wild animals are raised are subject to quarantine, and it is strictly forbidden to trade or sell them.

The statement added that markets, restaurants and e-commerce platforms across the country are strictly prohibited from trading wild animals in any way.
