Salisu Yusuf, coach of the Nigeria champion Enugu Rangers, confirmed that he will play his next team against Pyramids with the aim of achieving a good result against a team that qualified and leaders of the group.
Pyramids will host its Rangers counterpart at 6:00 pm on Sunday at the Cairo International Stadium in the fifth round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup.
Youssef said during the press conference before the confrontation: “The Pyramids team possesses many distinguished players, so it will be difficult for the Rangers team, but it will still play a strong match.”
He added that the qualification of his team has become difficult, but he will try to win and achieve 3 points against Pyramids, who won all of his matches in the group.
He explained that the Pyramids team is a strong candidate for the African Confederation Championship this season, pointing out that he spoke with his players in order to present a strong match against them.
In a related context, Alwesi Timmy Tobi, the Nigerian Rangers player, stressed that facing the Pyramids will be difficult despite the rest of the key players of the opposing team, which guaranteed qualification from the group.
He explained that the coach of the team spoke with them and urged them to win Pyramids and score 3 points in the confrontation that will be hosted by the Cairo International Stadium.
He concluded his remarks: “The confrontation with Pyramids on the ground of the historic Cairo Stadium, is a very good opportunity to play a strong match, and a very good motivation to achieve a historic result.”
