Egypt’s first handball team succeeded in beating Guinea with a score of 39-22 in opening its career in the 24th African Nations Cup in Tunisia hosted by Tunisia and qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Egypt is in the first group, accompanied by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea and Kenya.
The second group includes the teams of Angola, Gabon, Libya and Nigeria, while Tunisia is in the third group with Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and Cape Verde, and the fourth group includes Algeria, Morocco, Congo and Zambia.
The Egyptian team, led by Spanish coach Roberto Garcia Barondo, included 21 players for the tournament, namely:
Goalkeepers: Karim Hindawi, Issam Al-Tayyar, and Mohamed Ali.
Right wing center: Muhammad Sanad, and Akram Yousry.
Right-back center: Ahmed Al-Ahmar, Yahya Khaled, and Mohsen Ramadan.
The playmaker: Ahmed Khairi, Saif Al-Daraa and Ahmed Hisham El-Sayed.
Left-back center: Yahya al-Daraa, Ali Zain, Hassan Qaddah.
The left wing: Omar Bakkar and Ahmed Moamen.
Circle Center: Ibrahim Al-Masry, Mamdouh Hashem, Wissam Nawar, Ahmed Adel and Khaled Walid.
