Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in a televised speech today, Thursday, that his country is now enriching uranium in greater quantities than it was before it reached the nuclear agreement with world powers in 2015.
“We enrich uranium more than before reaching the agreement … the pressure has increased on Iran, but we are continuing to progress,” Rouhani added.
Tehran is gradually reducing its obligations under the nuclear deal in response to Washington’s withdrawal from it in 2018 and its reimposition of sanctions that restrict Iran’s economy.
On the other hand, Rouhani considered that the American tone in dealing with his country “changed after the missile strike directed by the Revolutionary Guards and targeted the Ain al-Assad base in Anbar Province in western Iraq on January 8th.”
He said: “The United States oppresses everyone, attacks everyone and crushes everyone’s interests, but no one dares to bomb its camps with missiles as it did.” Iran… The American accent towards us changed after this strike, to a great extent.
The US President had confirmed that the Iranian strike did not cause any casualties in the forces present at the Iraqi base of al-Assad, and that the damage it left was limited to minor material losses.
