Swiss Rene Filer scored the third strongest start for Al Ahly in the history of the Egyptian Premier League competition after his landslide victory over Tanta (5-0) in round 13 in the Egyptian League.
The record for the Red Caravan’s best start in the Egyptian League is recorded by the Portuguese name Manuel Jose in the 2004-2005 season, when he scored 17 consecutive victories.
In second place is the Dutch Punferrer after he had 12 consecutive victories in the 2002-2003 season, then Jose in third place with 11 consecutive victories in the 2005-2006 season.
Weiler just number Manuel Jose the lowest, and scored the third strongest start in Al Ahly’s history with 11 consecutive victories after he achieved the full mark in the Egyptian league and won all of his matches so far.
Rene Feiler needs to beat the Arab contractors in the next match to equal the Bonfrere number as the second best start in the history of the red club, and then he will need 5 other successive victories to reach the top of legendary coach Manuel Jose.
