FilGoal | News | Abdel-Ghani: I intend to run in the Football Association elections .. I would be sad if Abu Raida and Shubert competed

Magdy Abdel Ghani, president of the Professional Players Association, revealed his intention to run in the upcoming Egyptian Football Association elections.

Abdel Ghani was a member of the board of directors of the former Egyptian Football Federation, who resigned after bidding farewell to the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Abdul Ghani explained during his arrival as a guest on the program Match On Sada Al-Balad TV: “I intend to run in the upcoming Football Association elections.”

But he stressed that he did not intend to compete for the president’s seat, especially if Hani Abu Ridah ran for office: “It makes no sense for me to run for the position of president in the presence of Abu Raida.”

On his opinion on the possibility of Ahmed Shubert running for the position of President of the Federation: “I do not prefer that Schubert and Abu Ridah compete for the position, because I love and appreciate the two people.”

On the side that would tend to support him if this competition occurred, Abdul Ghani implicitly answered his tendency to Abu Rayda: “It does not make sense to be a decision-maker at the continental and international level, and not to have a decision in your country.”

Hani Abu Rida is a member of the Executive Council of the International Football Federation.

It is expected that the Egyptian Football Association elections will be held next summer.
