The Ghana Football Association has announced the appointment of Charles Capella Aconor as coach of the first team, and has appointed David Duncan as his assistant.

The Ghanaian Federation also announced its administrative committee, which witnessed the appointment of George Amwako as President of the Federation.

Earlier, reports in Ghana had said that the Ghana Football Association was negotiating with Al-Ahly coach Rene Filer, before the Football Made in Ghana website came out, in a report in which he said that sources close to the Ghanaian federation president, Kurt Okraco, confirmed that he did not communicate with Filer. The news was described as “false.”

Ghana Football Association had previously announced the dismissal of the coaches of all national teams for both men and women.

Ghana has earned 6 points so far in the qualifiers for the 2021 Nations Cup in Cameroon. After winning against South Africa and then Sao Tome.

The black stars are preparing to face Sudan on the 31st of August next in the third round of the qualifiers, then face the same team again on the 8th of September in the fourth round.
