The English newspaper “Mirror” quoted Italian journalist Fabio Santini as the contract was close to completion.
Santini said on the program “Il Processo”: “Napoli will sell Calido Coulibaly to Manchester United for between 70-75 million euros, things seem to have settled“.
“Naturally, a deal like this will take place in July, not January, in the Winter Transfer Market,” he added.
Coulibaly, 28, has played 20 games in the Italian League and Champions League with the Bartinope shirt.
The Red Devils will be on a date with the addition of another defender with a huge financial value after the inclusion of Englishman Harry Maguire from Leicester last summer for 80 million pounds, to become the most expensive defender in the world.
Coulibaly joined Napoli from the Belgian Genk in the summer of 2014 and has become one of the best defenders in the world in recent years.
The departure of the Senegalese defender is closer, as Italian club president Aurelio de Laurenitz wants to sell most of the Barnetti stars after they rebelled against his decision to set up a closed camp for players after a draw with Red Bull Salisburg in the Champions League.
The decision was rejected by the players and coach Carlo Ancelotti did not submit to it, which led to a strained relationship between the two parties, and then the results were reviewed locally and ended with the departure of the Italian to coach Everton.
Reports also draw Red Devils from the annexation of Portuguese Bruno Fernandez from the Portuguese sporting Lisbon and James Madison, the England playmaker, Leicester.
Naples is 11th in the Serie A table, while Manchester United is fifth in the English Premier League.
