In the 2016-17 season, Al-Ahly defeated Zamalek with two goals, Moamen Zakaria and Junior Ajay in the 17th round of the Egyptian League.
Shawqi Al-Saeed sat on the bench before taking part in the second half with the 55th minute.
But he shared an interesting story, as he claimed in his statements with Time Sports.
Shawqi Al-Saeed said: “Before the match, everyone knew that I would participate against Al-Ahly.”
“But, unexpectedly, Mohamed Helmy – the coach of Zamalek at the time – sat me on the bench.”
“Al-Ahly progressed in the first half 1-0, and between the two halves of the meeting, Mortada Mansour asked me to warm up and I did so without returning to Mohamed Helmy.”
He continued his speech by saying: “The change has already occurred and I participated in the second half by a decision from the President of Zamalek and not Mohamed Helmy.”
“I performed 10 out of 10 in the second half against Al-Ahly,” he noted.
“I was wronged in Zamalek because of the many change of coaches,” said Shawky Al-Saeed.
The 33-year-old played 10 games in the Zamalek jersey and managed to score once.
The Ismaili, El Gouna, and former Alexandrian defender are not affiliated with any team at this time.
