The Saudi Ministry of Interior said that Muammar Gaddafi, Muhammad Omar Al-Qenawy, an Egyptian national, was arrested after he was accused of smuggling a quantity of banned amphetamine pills.

She continued that after his interrogation, the charge was brought against him, and he was referred to the court, where he was issued an instrument against him that established what was attributed to him, and the ruling on his death was strengthened.
