Books – Muhammad Mustafa:
Al-Ahly coach Rene Weiler commented on the different performance of the team in local matches, and its African counterpart.
In a press conference after the Tanta match, Weiler said that the African Championship brings together the continent’s champions, and therefore it is not normal for the same performance to continue in the African matches.
The decline in results also attributed Africa to other conditions, such as temperature, stadium quality and travel conditions.
Al-Ahly swept Tanta by five clean, while its last match drew the group stage against Platinum, with a goal for each team.
“I have to be happy to win five,” said Fyler. “After the first goal, we waited a long time until adding another.”
He praised Mahmoud Metwally’s performance: “He can play in more than one position, and modern football requires that the player perform in more than one position.”
Al-Ahly fans reassured that Mahmoud Metwalli was injured, indicating that the player was subjected to stress after a long journey, in addition to being in the middle of the stadium, at high running rates.
Al-Ahly tops the league with 33 points from 11 games, with the full score.
