The Libyan National Army commander, Major General Khalifa Haftar, informed the Russian side of a number of conditions, including a time limit of 45 days to 90 days for armed militias to fully hand over weapons.

Hifter also demanded that there be a committee of the Libyan National Army next to the United Nations responsible for confining weapons in the hands of the militias and carrying out operations to receive these weapons provided that the work is fully under the Libyan armed forces.

Haftar also informed the Russian side again of Turkey’s refusal to be an international mediator, and demanded that the mediating countries are the neutral countries, whose position is to support the stability of Libya and not support armed militias or send extremists.

Armed militias

The director of the Moral Guidance Department of the General Command of the Army Khalid Al Mahjoub said that it is not possible to reach an understanding with the armed militias of the Al-Wefaq forces fighting in the capital, Tripoli, except with a military solution, after rejecting all political solutions and peaceful options.

He stressed in a statement to Arabic.Net, that “when the solution is not reached through politics, there is no room except for a military solution, because these armed militias are known and can only be understood with their elimination, just like the Brotherhood does not listen to the voice of politics and dialogue and is only understood In the language of force of arms. ”

Commenting on the failure of the talks between the two parties to the conflict in Moscow and the collapse of the armistice agreement, Mahjoub said, “They asked for dialogue and political solutions after they realized that they are finished. After all the fatigue and victories we have achieved, we will not accept their terms, the victor is the one who imposes his conditions, not the loser.”

On the ground, clashes renewed today, Tuesday, between the Libyan army forces and the armed militias of the Al-Wefaq government in a number of fighting axes in the capital, Tripoli, hours after the ceasefire agreement collapsed, against the background of General Khalifa Hifter’s refusal to sign it, because he ignored a number of his demands and reservations regarding the participation of Turkey oversees this agreement.

“The 134th National Protection Battalion” affiliated to the General Command of the Libyan Army, said that violent confrontations are taking place between the Libyan army forces and the Al-Wefaq militia in the Al-Saedia and Togar Axes south of the capital Tripoli, at a time when the military units stationed in the fighting axes confirmed their readiness to continue their operations until the liberation of the capital Tripoli And achieve victory.
