Shikabala Zamalek player
Amir Mortada, General Supervisor of the Zamalek Club football team, confirmed that a financial penalty will be imposed on the captain of the team, Mahmoud Abdel Razek Shikabala, because he put his son’s name on the shirt during the confrontation with Congolese Mazembe.
He said in televised remarks to the Zamalek channel: “The player will be punished according to the list, but I know that this is an unintended mistake from Shikabala, but it must be punished with the same punishment that the African Union will apply to the club.”
He added: “When registering the names of the players in the African Union records, this will be in the name of the passport, and the player’s nickname, and it is the name that must be put on the shirt, and not any other name as the player did.”
It is noteworthy that “Shikabala” participated mainly with Zamalek in the face of Mazembe, and was keen to put the name of his son in the back of the shirt, which was considered by the African Union in violation of the regulations.
Zamalek tied negatively with Mazembe, on Friday, in the fifth round of the group stage stage of the African Champions League, raising the white team’s balance to 8 points in second place, and the rise of Mazembe to point No. 11 at the top of the group.
And the white team secured second place in the first group with 8 points, in contrast, ZESCO raised his score to 3 points in third place, and the same balance for the Angolan team, and the two went out of the competition officially.
