India and the Philippines announced today, Thursday, the detection of the first case of new coronavirus on its soil. The Indian government said in a statement that the first case appeared in Kerala, in the south of the country. The statement added that the tests showed that the patient was infected with the virus and that his condition was stable and he was isolated in a hospital.
In the Philippines, health officials confirmed the first case of HIV infection.
Health Minister Francisco Duque told a news conference that the tests confirmed a 38-year-old Chinese injury, who came from Wuhan, China on January 21.
Duque added that the isolated patient inside a government hospital did not show symptoms of the disease at present.
