Defense counsel for Dr. Fadi Al-Hashem issued a statement, following the decision of Ghada Aoun, the Appeal Public Prosecutor in Lebanon, to charge the murder of the Syrian citizen Mohammed Al-Mousa to Dr. Fadi Al-Hashem, the husband of the actress Nancy Ajram.
He said in his statement: “We were not surprised by the current claim against Dr. Fadi Al-Hashem, the fact that the natural path for the file to turn into the first investigating judge in Mount Lebanon, with our assurance that the investigating judge will issue a decision considering Dr. Fadi Al-Hashem’s act as a legitimate self-defense.”
He continued, “It is natural for the prosecution to be completed and transfer the file to the first investigating judge in Baabda, who will in turn follow up the investigations and verify the validity of all the statements made by Dr. Al-Hashim. And Dr. Al-Hashim’s act of legitimate defense will be described in accordance with what is stipulated in the Lebanese Penal Code.”
The statement concluded: “The departure of Dr. Fadi by the Public Prosecutor of the Appeal was made after verification of the availability of the conditions of legitimate defense and that this is the natural course of the judicial file.”
Fadi Al-Hashem, the husband of actress Nancy Ajram, had shot a “masked” who broke into his house two weeks ago, with the aim of theft, and the matter caused a sensation, especially in light of doubting the authenticity of the videos at the time of the accident, and the relationship of the dead man to the family of the Lebanese singer.
