Thousands of people from Minya governorate spread the body of Samah Nabil, one of the victims of the Menia doctors accident, who were called “martyrs of the medical profession,” and that was killed, on Wednesday, in a collision among a number of female doctors assigned to 2017, on their way to attend a training course in Cairo.
The funeral took place from the Church of the Virgin Mary, Coptic Catholic, in the south of the city of Minya, on Wednesday morning, and the prayers were presided over by Father Boutros Yaqoub, the undersecretary of the Catholic Diocese in Minya.
“Jacob,” he said in his speech: “The martyr lived through forgiveness and tolerance. She was one of the daughters of the Church who loves and tolerant servants. Whoever knows her knows that she lived her name as an essential quality of her life, for she is truly the bride of heaven.”
The Minya residents and their doctors demanded the immediate investigation of every official responsible for the accident, especially after reports circulated about forcing the victims to travel and informing them of the training date just a day and a half before it was held in Cairo.
