President Sisi holds a meeting with the Prime Minister, Defense, Foreign Affairs, and Intelligence to discuss the Renaissance Dam negotiations

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today, Wednesday, with Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, First Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Ati, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and Abbas Kamel, Chief of General Intelligence.

Ambassador Bassam Radi, Spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the meeting dealt with the developments of the Renaissance Dam negotiations, especially in light of the current preparations for the next round of meetings this month in Washington to develop a comprehensive agreement on the rules for filling and operating the dam, as the president was briefed on the negotiating position in The framework of American sponsorship of the tripartite negotiations. The Egyptian position, its determinants and constants in this regard were also reviewed.

The President directed to continue working on preserving Egypt’s water rights for the benefit of present and future generations.

On the other hand, the meeting touched on a number of topics regarding measures being taken to combat terrorism within the framework of protecting and securing the country’s borders, in addition to developments in a number of external files in the context of challenges that threaten the security of the region.
