The Chinese government has announced that it will send chartered planes to return the citizens of Wuhan, the epicenter of the new Corona virus, who are abroad, as soon as possible, to their homes, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Friday.

The decision was taken in view of “the actual difficulties faced by the citizens of Hubei Province, especially the Wuhan people, abroad,” said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Zhongying.

The ministry’s decision comes at a time when a number of airlines have announced the suspension or reduction of the number of flights to China, which is making unremitting efforts to contain the spread of the deadly new virus.

China advised its citizens to delay travel abroad, and canceled organized tourism trips outside the country, while a number of countries including Germany, Britain, the United States and Japan advised their citizens to avoid traveling to China.

In response to a question during a press conference Thursday, about suspending flights, Zhou Tao of the Chinese Civil Aviation Administration said that the authorities are coordinating efforts to return travelers to their homes.

The new corona virus has killed 42 additional people in central Chinas Hubei Province, local health authorities announced Friday, The total number of deaths in China from the virus rises to 213.

An additional 1,200 HIV infections were recorded in Hubei in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of cases in China to 8,900.

And the World Health Organization announced, on Thursday, that the new Corona virus, which appeared in China and spread to many regions of the world, constitutes “A health emergency with an international dimension”, While the number of deadly virus victims increased to 213.

Tidros Adhanom, Director-General of the World Health Organization, announced the decision after a meeting of the WHO’s Emergency Committee, an independent panel of experts, amid growing evidence of the spread of the virus in about 18 countries.
