Schubert: The exit from the African Cup is attributed to Abu Rida

The journalist, Ahmed Schubert, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, confirmed that the exit of Egypt from the last nations of Africa against South Africa is attributed to Hani Abu Rida, the former president of the federation.

The Egyptian team bid farewell to the championship that was held at home and in front of its fans from the round of 16 at the hands of the South African team.

“I do not claim the role of martyrdom, the heroism, nor the knight, I just like telling the facts in front of everyone during the 7 months that I spent in the Football Association,” Schubert said in television statements to the broadcast program of the broadcast on Sada Al-Balad.

He added: “I did not want to submit the resignation after the exit of the national team from the nations of Africa. We did not relate to the first team. The team was supervised by Engineer Hani Abu Rida.”

He continued: “Reaching the 2018 World Cup is attributed to Hani Abu Ridah and exit from the 2019 African Cup is also attributed to him, because I saw the team only on one visit during the tournament.”

He continued: “We were not in the Football Association from the Organizing Committee, and the role of the members was poorly marginalized, we had no relationship from near or far from the team that was supervised by Hani Abu Ridah and Ahmed Mujahid by virtue of his presence with him permanently.”

And he completed his statements: “We were notified of the sudden return of Amr Warda, and this tournament in particular was not responsible for me. I have been intensifying my efforts since my arrival at the national team to restructure some of the committees and sectors.”
