A source said in a statement to Masrawy, today, Tuesday, that Egypt will participate in the Berlin conference to be held on January 19 in the German capital, to discuss ways to calm the situation in Libya.
Today, the German government announced that the conference will be officially held on January 19, and will invite Egypt, the United States of America, Russia, Britain, France, China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Congo, Italy, Algeria, the United Nations, the European Union, the African Union, and the University of Arab countries, but the level of representation of the countries included in the guest list has not been determined.
Yesterday, the Libyan parties discussed separately with the Foreign and Defense Ministers of Russia and Turkey, during the consultations that took place in Moscow, the possibility of reaching an agreement between the Libyan parties for a ceasefire.
The Libyan National Army commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter, refuses any Turkish interference, mediation or participation in overseeing the ceasefire in Libya.
