In a statement, the Attorney General said that “what happened from the employees of the General Intelligence Service (Operations Authority) laid off constitutes the crime of the rebellion in its entirety, and the perpetrators must be dealt with according to the provisions of the law and submit them for urgent trials.”
The Attorney General added that “the deficiency in the management of the apparatus, which was mentioned in the statements of the Vice-President of the Sovereign Council, must be taken seriously. Security and the rule of law are the basis for the country’s stability at this stage.”
He called for conducting the necessary investigations to reveal what happened in all its dimensions and restructuring the apparatus. “The country needs a device that maintains its security, not to terrify citizens and destabilize the security of the country and its people.”
A statement issued on Tuesday by Sudanese intelligence stated that within the framework of the structure of the agency and the resulting merging and demobilization, according to the options presented to employees of the Operations Authority, a group of them objected to the value of the financial reward and after-service benefits.
