Djamel Belmadi, coach of the Algerian national team, received an invitation from the Confederation of African Football, to participate in the “CAF” meetings scheduled for Wednesday in the Cameroonian capital, Yaounde.
According to the Algerian Federation statement through the official website, the meeting comes to a discussion on transferring the date of the 2021 African Nations Championship in Cameroon from June to be held in the winter of January.
Ahmed Ahmed, President K, said in statements on the sidelines of his attendance of the Club World Cup final, that it is difficult to hold the next African Championship in the summer, because of its conflict with the date of the Club World Cup, as well as the difficulty of holding it in the summer because of the temperature in Cameroon at that time (See details)
The FIFA Club World Cup 2021 will be held in China from June 17 to July 4, with the participation of 24 clubs.
The African Nations Championship will be held in the winter of January, before an adjustment is made to the continental championships for the Nations Cup in June, while the local club championships will be held throughout the season from August to May.
