The central bank confirms the rise in the value of external debt to Egypt at the end of last September

The Central Bank of Egypt officially revealed today, Sunday, the rise in the value of external debt to Egypt at the end of the first quarter of this fiscal year, specifically with the end of September of last year 2019.

The Central Bank confirmed in an official statement today that the value of Egypt’s external debt has reached $ 109.4 billion at the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year, which means that the external debt has increased from what it was in the past fiscal year.

He also pointed out that Egypt’s external debt in the past fiscal year amounted to $ 93.1 billion, which confirms that the increase has reached $ 16.2 billion, or 17.4%.

He added that Egypt’s external debt at the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year is divided into long-term and short-term, as the value of long-term debt reaches 98.329 billion dollars, while the value of short-term debt reaches 11.033 billion dollars.
