The ongoing meetings on the rules for filling and operating the Renaissance Dam were resumed in Washington with the participation of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Water Resources and Irrigation in Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, where meetings were held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Treasury Stephen Manuchon in addition to several meetings at the technical level to discuss the details of the rules for filling and operating the Renaissance Dam, including the procedures that Ethiopia should take it during the filling and operating phases to minimize the effects of droughts and protracted droughts.

The Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Water Resources, and Irrigation also participated in the meeting that US President Donald Trump held with the ministers of the three countries, where Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed Egypt’s appreciation for the American President’s interest in this vital file and the constructive effort undertaken by the American Treasury Secretary and his assistant team, stressing Egypt’s readiness to continue Negotiating within the coming days with the aim of reaching a fair and balanced agreement that meets the interests of the three countries, preserves their rights and secures Egypt’s water interests.The ministers agreed to continue negotiations today, Wednesday, for the third consecutive day to continue discussions on all aspects of the rules for filling and operating the Renaissance Dam.
