Official diplomatic sources said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Turkish Charge d’Affairs, on Thursday, in protest against the statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry regarding the raid of a “Turkish media committee” and the arrest of its employees in Cairo.

Counselor Ahmed Hafez, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed Egypt’s rejection in whole and detail of what was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and other Turkish statements about the legal measures taken by the Egyptian authorities in dealing with one of the illegal Turkish electronic media committees in Egypt.

The spokesman added that that «the committee worked under the cover of a company founded by elements of the terrorist Brotherhood with the support of Turkey, to publish false and fabricated information about the political, economic, security and legal conditions in Egypt, and send them to its dens in Turkey, in an attempt to distort the image of the country internally and internationally».
