“Do not negotiate with the Saraj government.”

He also stressed that “he does not negotiate with the outgoing Al-Sarraj government and its mandate because any negotiation with it is recognition of its legitimacy that has fallen,” noting that “the Libyan army will not back down from the gains it made on the ground, and will not stop fighting until all Libyan lands are liberated from terrorist militias.” , Which is supported by Turkey and the Brotherhood, and effectively controls the decisions of the Al-Wefaq government led by al-Sarraj.

He added: “Haftar and the Libyan army totally reject the existence of any Turkish role in any negotiations, given that Ankara is an enemy and a state that supports the militias and continues to send advisors and mercenaries to fight the Libyans and the national army.”

To that he stated that “the General Command of the Libyan Army has set conditions for resolving the Libyan crisis, including the necessity of dismantling the militias and handing over their weapons so that the Brotherhood’s trick does not happen as it happened in the Skhirat Agreement, where they agreed to dismantle the militias and the government obtaining the approval of Parliament, which did not happen after that.” Stressing that “the Libyan army and people will not bite from the hole twice, nor will they agree to repeat what happened in Skhirat or allow the militias to continue to exist and arm them.”

“The Skhirat agreement is behind everything that happens”

He continued: “For this reason we demanded a specific and clear time ceiling for the dissolution of armed militias and the handing over of their weapons under the supervision of the army, and we discovered that this condition does not exist in the Moscow agreement, so the army chief refused to sign it.”

Al-Mahjoub added, “The Skhirat Agreement is behind all the crises that are occurring in Libya at present. Because of the malice and cunning of the Brotherhood, which agreed during the meeting to dismantle the militias and the government obtaining the approval of Parliament to pass the agreement, and after passing it, it renounced its promises, denied the agreement and practiced everything that violates its provisions.” Militia threat and dominated the government and its decisions. “

Dismantling the militias is a condition for any negotiation

He also stressed that “the dismantling of the militias is a prerequisite for any negotiation,” noting that “the Al-Sarraj government and its successors, Turkey and the Brotherhood and its militias, will not agree to this, and therefore do not negotiate with Al-Sarraj as long as this condition is denied.”

“The Libyan army took control of large areas of the capital, Tripoli, and achieved victories that make it the strongest party in any negotiation,” Al-Mahjoub said, noting that “the army entered large areas of the capital, such as Abu Salim and Salah al-Din, and separated him from the headquarters of the Saraj government only less than 2 km.”
