According to press reports, the Sudanese authorities decided to close the country’s airspace as a precaution after shooting at an intelligence headquarters.
Al-Arabiya TV also explained that there is continuous shooting in a street in the capital, Khartoum, and the roads leading to the airport.
These events come before the Sudanese and Al-Ahly match, in the fifth round of the group stage of the African Champions League, scheduled for February 1, at Al-Hilal Stadium in Omdurman.
The CAF regulation states that the venue for the match must be announced 10 days before.
And in the event of urgent events, the regulations included the transfer of the match to a safe place that guarantees its holding, subject to the approval of the African Union “K”.
Al-Ahly occupies second place in its group with 7 points, behind the Tunisian coastal star, the group’s leader, with 9 points, while the Sudanese Crescent comes third with 6 points, and the group is ranked Platinum by one point.
Al Hilal and Al Ahly need to win the match to maintain their chances of crossing the group stage and qualifying for the Champions League quarter-finals.
