Azar said, at a press conference held at the White House on Friday, that the measures taken in the context of the state of emergency include preventing foreigners from China from entering the United States from next Sunday.

He also stressed that President Donald Trump has ordered a temporary ban on entry into the country of people who may carry the virus, noting that any American citizen who returns home after visiting Hubei Province in China in the past two weeks will be placed in quarantine for 14 days. Americans returning from China will undergo medical examinations at designated entry points.

The American authorities also decided to reduce the number of airports hosting the flights coming from China to seven, and warned their citizens against going to China.

Azar added that the measures taken are preventive, stressing that the risk of HIV infection in the country is “low”, and that the authorities’ task is to keep the risks stemming from “Corona” at this level.

It should be noted that the death toll from the “Corona” virus in China exceeded 200 cases, and about 10,000 infected people were registered in more than 20 countries, most of them in China.
