Reuters reported that the US Senate officially began the trial of US President Donald Trump on Thursday.

And she made clear that the indictment of Trump had been read out in the Senate.

The US Senators will take the oath before the President of the Supreme Court, who will preside over Trump’s trial with the aim of removing him from office, in preparation for the start of the trial next Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the Senate officially received the indictment against the US President, the third in the history of the United States that is subject to such a trial.

Trump will have to respond to two counts, abusing power and blocking the work of Congress. He is accused of pressuring to persuade Ukraine to open an investigation against Democrat Joe Biden, his potential rival in the upcoming presidential election in November.

On December 18, the House of Representatives, where the Democratic opposition holds a majority, indicted Trump during a vote to “isolate him.”
