The American army announced the treatment of a number of American soldiers from symptoms of concussion in the brain as a result of the Iranian missile attack that took place on the eighth of January on a base in Iraq, according to “Sky News” in an urgent news.
“While no American soldiers were killed in the January 8 Iranian attack on Ein al-Asad air base, many symptoms of concussion due to the blast have been treated, and their cases are still being evaluated,” US Central Command spokesman Bill Urban said in a statement on Thursday.
American military sources said to the “Defense One” website, which is interested in US military news, that the wounded soldiers were transferred for treatment in Kuwait and Germany.
The sources pointed out that 8 Iranian missiles fell on the base in Anbar province, in western Iraq, which hosts American forces.
The new American army statements are inconsistent with the assurances of previous American sources, who said that no American forces were injured.
US President Donald Trump tweeted on his Twitter account, following the missile attacks, saying that “everything is fine.”
Iran launched missile attacks on the base of Al-Asad, and targeted another base that hosts American forces in Erbil, in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
Tehran was responding to the killing of the prominent leader of the Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in an American drone strike near Baghdad International Airport.
Soleimani, along with Iranian and Iraqi military officials, including Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, deputy commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization militia, were killed while exiting Baghdad airport.
