Aqila Saleh explained that until now Libya does not need military support, but if Turkey interferes according to the threats of the Turkish president, then it is inevitable to use Egypt, Algeria, or other countries as the Arabs are the first.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced today that Turkey has started to send forces to Libya to support the internationally recognized national reconciliation government in Tripoli, days before the Berlin conference on the conflict in Libya.
Turkey had previously said that it had sent a training and cooperation team that is now working in Libya. Erdogan said today that Turkey has started deploying its forces in Libya and that it will use all diplomatic and military means to ensure stability to the south of its territory.
On Sunday, Germany will host a conference on Libya that includes the warring parties, foreign supportive parties and representatives of the United Nations, the United States, Russia, Britain, France, China, Turkey and Italy. Haftar and Al-Sarraj were invited to the conference, but it was not clear whether they would attend.
Turkey and Libya signed two agreements in November, one on military cooperation and the other on maritime borders in the eastern Mediterranean.
On Thursday, Erdogan said his country would soon start granting licenses for exploration and drilling in the eastern Mediterranean.
