Zamalek team culminated in the African Super Championship after beating Tunisian Esperance three goals to one goal in a meeting held at the “Al Gharafa” stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.

Zamalek participated in the African Super Championship by beating the Moroccan Berkane Renaissance in the final of the Confederation Cup in the final version, in return, Esperance participated as a champion of the African Champions League.

Victory over Esperance gave Zamalek and its French coach Patrice Cartieron several positive features, and this is what we will review in the following report:

Fourth Mark:

For the fourth time, Zamalek crowned the African Super title after the white team previously won it in the seasons (1994) against Al-Ahly, (1997) against the Arab contractors, (2003) against Moroccos Wydad Casablanca.

The win gave Zamalek the title by defeating the Congolese Mazembe, and Al-Abyad became close to its domestic rivals, who crowned the African Super on six previous occasions.

Sweeping superiority:

At the African level, Zamalek faced its Esperance opponent on seven occasions, during which Al-Abyad won three occasions, and they likewise drew for a single loss in the final leg of the 1994 edition of the African Champions League.

Recurring scenario:

In the last edition of the African Super Competition, which was held in Qatar, Raja Casablanca of Morocco managed to win the title after defeating Esperance with two goals against one goal.

The meeting witnessed the presence of Patrice Carteron at the head of the technical staff of Raja, in contrast to the presence of Moein Al-Shaabani as coach of Esperance.

Carteron returned again to repeat the same scenario, but winning the title with Zamalek to lead the white team for the first titles of the season before the Egyptian Super match against Al-Ahly in a meeting that will be held on the 20th of this month in the Emirates.

Third championship:

Carteron continued to impose his domination on the continental titles in the African Championships, as the French achieved its first titles on the continent with the Congolese Mazembe when he won the African Champions League title in the 2015 edition.

In the last two seasons, Cartier was able to obtain the African Super Cup twice in a row with Raja and Zamalek at the expense of one competitor, Esperance.
