The Football Association will impose new penalties on the Zamalek club because of the withdrawal from the top match against Al-Ahly, where Al-Gabaliya is working to limit the losses resulting from the cancellation of the match, related to the broadcast revenue and the rights of sponsors, to be deducted from Zamalek’s dues.
The Egyptian Football Association decided to adopt the decisions taken by the Competitions Department regarding the Al-Ahly and Zamalek match postponed from the fourth week of the Premier League competition that was set for last Monday and that the Zamalek club team left behind, considering that Al-Ahly won the match 2-0 with the deduction of three other points from Zamalek’s balance in The end of the 2019-2020 season and the team itself is re-arranged within the final schedule of the competition, in addition to signing a fine of 200,000 pounds to the Zamalek Club, to be paid to the Federation treasury within a month of its date.
The Competitions Department had considered the Zamalek team to withdraw from the match based on the referee and match observer reports, and pursuant to the provisions of Articles 46 and 47 of the Competitions Regulations and Item 30, paragraph 2 of the conditions and system of the competition.
The members of the five-year committee in the Football Association agreed to form a club committee starting from the second round of the general league, so that the committee has the right to administer the general league competition and distribute rights to clubs, provided that the role of the five-year committee is to manage national teams and the Egypt Cup competition according to the regulations.
This came after the recent crises that broke out on the sports field, specifically the events of the two local super matches between Al-Ahly and Zamalek in the Emirates, as well as the last summit game that was canceled, so the committee wants to stay away from these skills and devote itself to the teams, especially as the regulations stipulate that.
The officials of the five-year committee of the Football Association decided to postpone the decisions related to the canceled Al-Ahly and Zamalek summit match, and the officials of the Gabaliya preferred to announce the decisions after the matches of Al-Ahly and Zamalek against the South African Sun Downs and Al-Tarji Al-Tunisi, in the away leg of the African Champions League quarter-finals.
The Football Association officials, headed by Amr Al-Janaini, held a session in a Cairo hotel to discuss the events of the summit match between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, which was canceled because the white team did not attend the Cairo Stadium, despite the delay of the game by an hour to be held at half past eight in the evening instead of half past seven. The session of the five-member committee came on the sidelines of the meeting held with Sarah Salimon, FIFA official, to discuss the new regulations for Al-Jabaliya, which comes within the mandates assigned to the five-year committee to manage the affairs of the federation.
