Thousands of Japanese participated in an annual nudist festival held recently in Okayama Prefecture, despite the cold weather and fears of the spread of Corona virus infection.
The organizers of this traditional festival in Japan took precautionary measures due to the outbreak of the virus, as sterile materials were provided for the hands at the entrance to the temple and in the surrounding area.
This bustling festival is called “Hadaka Matsuri”, and it is held annually on the third Saturday of February at the “Sidaiji Kanon” temple.
The number of male participants is about 10 thousand, and these are not completely naked, but rather they wear minimal clothes, and this is represented by a Japanese apron and white socks.
This huge and tumultuous festival is dedicated to abundant crops, and the creation of prosperity, development and fertility, in addition to the existence of activities dedicated to young boys, with the aim of preserving the continuation of such traditions that appeared 500 years ago.
