Cloud computing has evolved in parallel with the spread of 4G technology and smartphones. The combined strength of the network and information servers allows listening to music, watching videos, working remotely and posting to social networks, even ordering a taxi and monitoring its arrival to the specified location in real time on a map.

Companies and individuals also buy storage space, but also the computing power, services, and software that are physically located in data centers, not on the phone and computers.

There are currently cloud computing services for video games that are inherently larger in size, and therefore require more data storage space and more speed when in use. As with many other uses, “cloud games” allow the dispensing of expensive equipment, which is technically obsolete quickly, according to Agence France-Presse.

Most major companies and institutions resort to “cloud” technology, either by owning it on their own servers, or by renting specific spaces, i.e. “general cloud”, through a basic provider such as “Amazon”, “Microsoft” and “Google”, which It offers a wide range of options, from simple hosting, to full online services, with the provision of tools and programs and a guarantee of safety and security.

In practice, many companies choose a “hybrid” system that combines the cost, power, and flexibility of public cloud computing with the security that can be obtained through a “special cloud.”

The value of the public cloud computing services market is expected to reach $ 266 billion in 2020, an increase of 17 percent compared to last year, according to Gartner. IDC expects to double its value in 2023 and reach $ 500 billion.

Amazon Web Services generated $ 35 billion in revenue in 2019 by attracting millions of users worldwide.

Microsoft does not provide accurate numbers for Azure, which is a general Cloud service that it provides in order to avoid comparisons with its competitors. However, this technology provides the informational group with the best financial performance achieved, chapter by chapter.

Azure accounts for 15 percent of the global market, followed by Google Cloud with 6 percent, and then Ali Baba, China, with 5 percent.

Indeed, cloud computing technology is an increasing priority for the first American online search engine (Google), which emphasizes its capabilities to analyze data, and the ability of multiple or hybrid cloud users to transfer data from one provider to another.

Google Cloud made about $ 9 billion in 2019, an increase of 53 percent in one year.

All distributors of these services focus on cyber security, especially since the reputation associated with data protection is essential in their business, but also and above all to improve machine learning capabilities to better analyze and use the vast amount of data produced at every moment.

The massive contract with the Pentagon, for example, aims to upgrade all information systems of the US armed forces through a system managed through artificial intelligence.

Recently, Amazon Web Services allied itself with Verizon, the operator of cellular networks, and Microsoft has deployed AT&T to deploy cloud technologies directly through antennas, in order to process data collected through sensors in Houses, factories, vehicles, etc., in real-time for transmission without passing through the information servers.
