The coach of Tunisias Esperance, Magdi Traoui, stated that the team lost the services of one player before confronting Zamalek in the African Super Cup due to injury, saying that they warned the players against a repeat of last year’s scenario.
In the press conference before the expected Super Cup match tomorrow, Friday, Trawy said that his team is ready for the match and knows very well that the meeting was difficult for a strong competitor.
And he talked about the loss of the African Super League last year against the Moroccan Raja, the then Confederacy champion, Taraoui said: “We were not so lucky last year against Raja, but this season it will be different.”
He continued: “We will play the match tomorrow against a very respectable team, but we seek to win the title. The matches between the Tunisian and Egyptian teams are always an exciting derby and we strive to present a strong match.”
He explained his opinion of the fans’ support for the team, saying: “The Esperance fans always support the team and this makes them happy, stressing that his team seeks to win the title and dedicate it to the fans.”
“Abdel-Qader Badran confirmed his absence due to the injury he suffered during the league meeting, and I hope that everyone will be in good shape,” he added, speaking about the absence.
On his opinion of facing Zamalek three times in one month, he said: “The nature of the confrontation tomorrow is different from its counterpart in the African Champions League … We are focusing now on tomorrow’s match, then we will have time to prepare well before confronting the Champions League.”
He concluded by saying: “The technical staff of Taraji warned the players against repeating the scenario of last season against Raja, stressing that Esperance always plays under pressure due to its being a great team.”
