Faisal Zaid, the official spokesman for Al-Ahly club, Saudi Arabia, revealed the truth of his club’s negotiations with Frenchman Patrice Cartieron, coach of the first soccer team in Zamalek.
“We have not entered into any negotiations with the French, Patrice Carteron,” Zaid said in a press statement Thursday, adding that the French coach has a valid contract with Zamalek and the Saudi club cannot do that.
“A technical manager will be hired within the next few hours,” Zaid said.
According to Saudi media reports, the people of Jeddah entered into negotiations with Cartieron, and the French coach stated that he had received offers from Saudi clubs, but he rejected the idea of leaving Zamalek.
A spokesman for Al-Ahly Jeddah confirmed that his club will not give up the Syrian striker Omar Al-Soma in any way, as he said, “Al-Soma is one of the most important players of Al-Ahly Jeddah and he is continuing with us and we will not give him up at any cost whatsoever and there are no negotiations with the Egyptian Al-Ahly.”
He added: “We hope in the coming period to improve the team’s results in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Cup tournament, and we are suffering during this period from poor results.”
