The Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management said – in a statement today – that the “Xinjia Hotel” in the “Licheng” district of “Quanzhou”, which opened in 2018 and is dedicated to quarantine and includes 80 rooms, collapsed around 7:15 pm yesterday, while initial reports stated that the siege About 70 people as a result of the crash.

The ministry added that 9 people managed to escape at the time of the accident, and that among those who were rescued, a two-year-old boy was pulled out of the rubble in the early hours of the morning, while his parents were also rescued and sent to the hospital for treatment.

The fire department sent more than 1,000 firefighters to the site, along with 11 search and rescue teams and seven rescue dogs.

Initial investigations showed that the hotel building was subject to decorative work when the accident occurred, while the police arrested the hotel owner. Search and rescue work is still ongoing.
