Scientists in Australia say they have learned about the way the immune system in the human body is fighting the emerging Corona virus, which causes Covid-19 disease.
Their research, published in the journal Nature Medicine, showed that people recover from the new virus in the same way as they do from regular flu.
Experts say defining immune cells can also help develop a vaccine to fight the virus.
Experts add that many people recovered from Covid 19, meaning that it was already known that the immune system could successfully fight the virus.
This is the first time that research has identified four types of immune cells that fight the Covid 19 virus.
These cells were identified by tracking a patient with a mild to moderate case of the virus and who had no previous health problems.
The case was for a 47-year-old woman from Wuhan, in China, where the virus has spread, was hospitalized in Australia and recovered within 14 days.
