Today, Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced the registration of 16 new cases of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the total number of cases to 126 so far.
The new cases include 8 Egyptians, and 8 cases of foreigners of different nationalities, who were discovered within the ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures.
While 5 cases (all of them Egyptians) left the isolation hospital, after receiving medical care according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total of those recovered from the virus to 26 cases.
The statement added that the rest of the “negative” cases are being followed up in the isolation hospitals, and their condition is stable, and it is expected that they will leave after the PCR analysis has been proven negative for the second time.
In this context, Egypt recorded only two deaths: the case of the Egyptian woman who died last Thursday, and the other of a German who died on Sunday, 8 March.
