The Egyptian authorities refused, on Monday, the autopsy of the deceased German tourist with the Corona virus.
Official sources at the Red Sea Health Directorate revealed to Al Arabiya.net and Al Hadath.net that the body of the German tourist Thomas Falk, Who died Sunday evening in Hurghada General Hospital due to Corona virus, Still in the morgue of the hospital, and the deceased will be handed over to his family and relatives in the presence of a delegate from the German embassy without an autopsy for fear of transmitting the infection.
She stated that samples of 12 people who had contacts with him were withdrawn, and the General Hospital in Hurghada, as well as the hotel in which he was staying, were sterilized, adding that the German tourist refused to transfer him to the isolation hospital as soon as it was confirmed that he was injured.
The sources confirmed that the medical report of the German tourist revealed that the cause of death was due to respiratory failure resulting from acute pneumonia.
This comes as the Ministry of Health announced that 12 cases of coronavirus have been recovered, while 43 patients are receiving treatment.
The sources had revealed to Al-Arabiya.net and Al-Hadath.net yesterday that the German tourist named Thomas Falk was born in Hamburg on October 16, 1960, and arrived in Egypt on February 29 to spend a tourist vacation in Luxor and Aswan. There with his wife for several days, then he went to Hurghada on the evening of March 5, and stayed in a hotel in the Dahar area, in the heart of the city.
She added that the German tourist felt the symptoms of the disease on March 6, as its temperature rose, and at exactly eight oclock in the morning that same day he went to a private hospital south of Hurghada, and immediately decided to transfer him to the Fever Hospital in Hurghada, then he was transferred to Hurghada General Hospital until he died Inside it Sunday evening.
On Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced the death of the first case of a German citizen, from the emerging Corona virus.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson of the ministry, said that the German citizen, aged 60 years, had satisfactory symptoms of high temperature when he arrived from Luxor Governorate to Hurghada, where he went to Hurghada General Hospital on Friday evening, March 6 Al-Mady to receive medical care, and the necessary tests were done and the positive sample of the emerging corona virus was withdrawn on Saturday, March 7.
He stated that the German casualty was placed in intensive care because he suffers from respiratory failure caused by acute pneumonia, and refused to transfer to the designated isolation hospital, noting that his condition worsened and a disorder of his consciousness occurred, and he died Sunday 8 March.
He pointed out that immediately the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the instructions of the World Health Organization, took all necessary preventive measures, and the hospital was sterilized and disinfected.
Mujahid stressed that health regulations were addressed in Germany to investigate the situation and provide Egypt with information, pointing out that the case did not stay in Egypt for only 7 days.
