Moez Bin Sherifia, Tunisias Esperance goalkeeper, confirmed that the crowning of the pre-CAF Champions League title in 2018 at the expense of Al-Ahly in the final match is the best moment in his career since his first participation in the competition in 2010.
The Esperance champion was crowned champions of the Champions League in 2018 after its victory over Al-Ahly in Tunisia by returning the final match with three clean goals scored by Saad Bakir (two goals) and Anis Al-Badri, to turn his delay back in Alexandria (3-1) to win (4-3).
In a video interview with the Tunisian newspaper “foot24”, Ben Sharifia said of the best moment in his career in the Champions League: “Hit Badri … bird oh baker”, referring to the words of the Tunisian commentator Issam Chaouali while celebrating the goals of Esperance.
He added: “I hope that the final of the African Champions League will be purely Tunisian and bring together Esperance and the coastal star, and the match will be played in Tunisia.”
It is noteworthy that Esperance hosted Zamalek this Friday, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-final, after losing to Cairo 3-1, while the coastal star lost from Wydad in Morocco with a clean double in the first leg of the continental competition quarter-finals.
