FilGoal | News | Al-Hadari: I have not officially retired yet … and I am competing for the first title in 25 years

Issam Al-Hadary, the historical goalkeeper, told Egypt that he has not officially retired from football yet.

Al-Hadari said in statements to On Time Sport: “So far I have not officially announced my retirement.”

“I am waiting for the appropriate time for that, but I have not officially announced it,” he added.

The 47-year-old followed, “If I wanted to play I would have played this season already, but I do not have the desire to do that given the conditions of Egyptian football.”

“Cristiano Ronaldo said that he and Messi are exceptional because the competition between them lasted 15 years for No. 1. I competed for No. 1 for 25 years.”

“Muhammad Al-Shennawi did not force me to retire, of course. No one could do that because I was the first on all of these names already.”

Essam El-Hadary is the goalkeeper of the Egyptian team for 22 years from 1996 to 2018.

El-Hadary has been crowned the nations of Africa four times in 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010. He participated in the 2018 World Cup finals as the largest player to participate in the World Cup historically.
