Al-Ahly Club Planning Committee, headed by Mohsen Saleh, decided to hold a meeting next week, with Ahmed Fathi, the right back of the Red Team, to resolve the player’s position on the renewal.
The committee set next Monday, the date for a session with the player to resolve the renewal of his contract, which is due to expire at the end of the current season.
Syed Abdul Hafeez, Director of Ball, and Amir Tawfiq, Director of Contracting, informed Ahmed Fathi and his representative, Nader Shawky, of the date and venue of the meeting.
Al-Ahly administration had previously held a session with Nader Shawqi in the absence of Fathi, who was outside Cairo, during which no agreement was reached between the two parties.
Fathi joined the ranks of Al-Ahly at the beginning of the 2015/2016 season, coming from Umm Salal Al-Qatar, and contributed to crowning the red team with many local and continental championships, most notably 9 local league titles and 3 African Champions League tournaments.
It is worth noting that Fathi wore the Al-Ahly shirt during 338 games in various championships, during which he scored 24 goals and made 61 assists.
